enjoying a bowl of life…

classroom music

First, and above all, I teach children to love music. I encourage them to make it a part of everyday life to the benefit of themselves, those around them and their God who gave them the gift of music. It is my goal to send students into the world with music knowledge and being prepared for future endeavors, but if I have not taught them to see the joy of music in their lives, then I have not done my job. I care about each student and want them to be the best they can.

I currently teach classroom music and choral studies to Preschool-8th graders.

I earned a BA degree in K-12 Instrumental Music Education.

In our music curriculum I incorporate the Core Knowledge Sequence (used by our Lutheran School District), State Standards, and National Music Education Standards.

I am a member of the national music educators association: MENC

Students participate in music at our school in a variety of ways. Each preschool has music class once a week, sings in church twice a year and puts on a Christmas Program. Kindergarten- 6th grade has music class once a week with their own class and a second music period each week with other grades to practice for choir. 7th-8th graders have music once a week. All Kindergarten-8th grade sings in church 3-4 times a year, publicly performs a Christmas Concert and also participates in a Spring Musical.
